Merle Maeser Allen (b. 1898 - d. 1997) was born on August 4, 1898 in Mesa, Arizona Territory.  He married Centanna Haymore in 1920 and Opal Tenney Goodman in 1960.  After Mormon missions, he settled in Prescott in 1920, where he was a successful grocer, then grocery wholesaler until 1965.  He was the first president of the Prescott Chamber of Commerce, an early backer of the Hassayampa hotel, and served on several civic committees.  Merle passed away on March 24, 1997.
