Description

Colonial Apartments.

This building on the southeast corner of Gurley and Alarcon Streets was built by William Buffum during the 1870s, occupied by Governor Frederick Tritle in the 1880s, and businessman Frank M. Murphy during the 1890s.

This photo was taken in the 1930s, when the house had been converted into the Colonial Apartments.  The site was later razed, and is today the parking lot for The Clean Machine Dry Cleaning and Laundromat.
