John C. Herndon and J. L. Fisher residences, Cortez Street, northwest corner of Carleton Street. The Herndon residence is at 246 South Cortez. To the right of the photo is the J. L. Fisher residence at 240 South Cortez, which is today the Hampton Funeral Home.
Herndon was a prominent Prescott attorney for many years. He became Yavapai County District Attorney in 1886. Herndon died on April 10, 1906, and is buried in the Masonic Cemetery.
J.L. Fisher was a Prescott businessman and politician who dealt in real estate, mines, and railroads.
