Description

Grace Faye Alexander (b. 1910 - d. 1961) was born on July 26, 1910 (or 1912) in Iowa. Research shows that she was known by several names. In her father's obituary, she is listed as Grace Catherine Alexander. In her obituary, she is listed as Diane Grace Cedaka.

Her father, Arthur Alexander (b. 1882 - d. 1915), was born December 26, 1882 near Onslow, Iowa. He married Nelli Hanna in December 1903 and they had three children: Bessie Iona (b. February 17, 1908 - d. May 29, 1908), Grace Faye, and Willam Joseph (b. January 20, 1906 - d. April 11, 1980). William Joseph was born in Jones, Iowa and died, and is buried, in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Nellie Hanna (also known as Minelvia Nellie Hanna) was born in 1884 in Onslow, Iowa and died in April 1964, in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Following Arthur Alexander's death, Nelli married William H. Rieken. The 1920 census shows Nellie and William living in Mayer and Camp Verde, Arizona with stepchildren, Grace Alexander and Joseph Alexander.

Grace Alexander appears on the school census in 1920 living in Yavapai County. At some point, she married Anthony Cedaka. She died September 18, 1961 at her home in Los Angeles, California and is buried in Clay Cemetery in Inglewood, California.

On the back of this photograph is written, "Grace Faye Alexander @ 5 years old."
