This may be Doris (Chapman) Thomas (b. 1902 - d. 2002), daughter of Henry Melville Chapman and Blanche Farrington Chapman. (Henry was secretary of the Phoenix board of trade and of the Phoenix Library Association; Blanche's father was Arizona pioneer Rufus Elias Farrington). She lived in Los Angeles, where the photo studio was located. She died at age 90 in 2002. She was predeceased by her husband, David Dewey John Thomas; they had a son named Stephen C.
Handwriting on back of photo reads: "Madison Loring - Is this O.K.? for Pioneer photos. Blanche Farrington-Chapman. Daughter of Rufus E. and Mary Shivers Farrington. This is for Museum or wheresoever you wish it to be placed."
