Description

Dearing Ranch, was on the road past Thumb Butte near Prescott, Arizona. The Dearing family are standing in their yard in front of their ranch house.  In the photo left to right are Maggie Dearing (wife/mother), Grace Dearing (daughter), with the family dog, and Willie Dearing (husband/father).

Margaret "Maggie" (Simmons) Dearing was born on October 1, 1861, in Kansas, to Thomas Wilson Simmons and Cynthia Catherine (Hawkins) Simmons. With her family, Maggie would move to Prescott around the age of eight. On December 24, 1878, Maggie would marry William "Willie" Anderson Dearing in Prescott, Yavapai County, Ariozna, another settler from Kentucky. The two had six children, one of them being the pictured Mary Grace Dearing, who went by Grace.

In 1930 Maggie and Willie moved to National City, California.  Willie passed away on February 10, 1933, and on January 12, 1945 Maggie died.
