Description

Part of the 1931 film set for the movie "Riders of the Purple Sage", which was filmed in Sedona, Arizona. This building represented Jane Withersteen's house (played by Marguerite Churchill) in the film and was later intentionally destroyed. Many films have been made with the title "Riders of the Purple Sage," a story written by Western author Zane Grey. This particular set is from the 1931 film directed by Hamilton MacFadden and starring George O'Brien as Jim Lassister and Noah Beery as Judge Dyer.
