Stephen Ross (b. 1850 - d. 1926) was a Yavapai County pioneer. He married Minnie Alice Cogburn (b. 1865 - d. 1933) on February 17, 1886 in Flint, Michigan. They came west shortly after their marriage and settled in Chino Valley, Arizona. They had one son, Garland (b. 1886 - d. 1946).
Stephen became the foreman of the Garland Ranch and then part owner. For many years the property was known as the Garland and Ross property. He later entered the contracting business and constructed part of the old Arizona Central railroad, which became the Santa Fe main line through Prescott.
The family left Prescott in 1897 and settled in Santa Ana, California. Their son became a dentist. Stephen died on March 5, 1926.
Note: in a few sources, Stephen's birthdate is shown as either 1849 or 1851.
