Gravestone of Paul (b. 1888 - d. 1982) and Helen Hicha (b. 1894 - d. 1972) in the Chino Valley Cemetery. Both immigrated from Russia in the early twentieth century. Paul was ordained as an Russian Orthodox priest in New York City and served as a spiritual leader in Massachusetts, Texas, Florida and Ohio. Paul and Helen had four children (two sons and two daughters); their daughter Helen married into the Wells ranching family of Chino Valley. The grave inscription reads: "Give us grace, Lord, for the souls of your servants. Dear Lord forgive their sins - intentional and unintentional. Erase, God, all type of tears from their eyes. Our relatives, our friends, those that we know, please visit us because we are already home and you are still our guests."
Chino Valley Cemetery consists of one (1) acre of land deeded to the city by Herbert Rees (b. 1913 - d. 1970) to use as a cemetery. The first graves date back to the 1920s. Improvements have been made through the donations and efforts of volunteers.
