Description

Leonard Clanton was the son of Big Bug rancher Thomas Newton Clanton. Newspapers of the day state that he died on or about May 4, 1883 after being attacked by a vicious horse. He was 16 years old.

His grave is isolated, and is located about 100 yards south of Highway 69, about half a mile from Cordes Junction. It is located on the property of an RV Park near the junction of I-17 and Highway 69, and permission must be obtained from the park office to visit it.

The people in the photo are identified as Margie Brown and Marian Schlichter.
