George Demetrius Kendall (b. 1828 - d. 1902) was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served as an infantry captain in the Civil War, and moved to Prescott, Arizona Territory in 1865. He was a respected medical doctor in Prescott and opened the Pioneer Drug Store with a partner, Mr. Clutts; their firm was named Kendall & Clutts. The store burned down in 1885. Dr. Kendall was a member of the Masons and the Grand Army of the Republic. At the time of his death on November 6, 1902, he and his wife, Ellen (Getchell) Kendall (b. 1847 - d. 1913), had three children. Dr. Kendall is buried in the Masonic Cemetery in Prescott.
