Description

George C. "Bob" Larkin (b. Unknown – d. 1896) is seen here operating a donkey engine at a granite quarry in Miller Valley, Arizona. Bob was the son of William H. Larkin (b. 1860 - d. 1925) who was responsible for using gray granite as building material for the Yavapai County Courthouse. The engine pictured handled all of the granite that was used to construct the courthouse. The granite came out of a quarry in Miller Valley. George C. "Bob" Larkin died on December 23, 1896 in Topeka, Kansas.
