Zella (Dysart) Vaughn (b.1881 - d. 1972) was born on November 4, 1881 in Lancaster, Missouri. She attended Phoenix High School. While on a trip to the Grand Canyon with her 2 brothers and sister, she kept a diary which was published in 1996 as "Summer Sojourn to the Grand Canyon - the 1898 diary of Zella Dysart." She married George Walton Vaughn and had four children and ten grandchildren. Zella was a teacher, homemaker and member of the Christian Church. She died on November 2, 1972 and is buried in Phoenix, Arizona. The name of the young boy is unknown.
