Description

Emily Belle (Rodgers) Payne (b. 1888 - d. 1950) was born at Camp Verde, Arizona to R. M. "Mac" Rodgers and Harriett (Shull) Rodgers. As a young woman she taught school at Ash Fork, Arizona, and at Miller Valley, Lincoln and Washington Schools in Prescott, Arizona.  She married Morris Wing Payne on June 22, 1922.  One son, Sherman Rodgers Payne, was born on September 11, 1924.  She worked with her husband in the operation of Granite Dells in Prescott, Arizona. She was active in the First Congregational Church of Prescott, Arizona, the Past Grand Nobles and the Monday Club.  She died on October 15, 1950 in Prescott, Arizona.
