Description

Florence M. Hallam (b. 1870 - d. 1967) was born on December 7, 1870 in Illinois. She was the daughter of Sarah Ann Hallam (birthdate unknown) of Ohio and John Locker Hallam, born on February 21, 1818 in England.

Florence was a graduate of Wellesley College. She started her teaching career in high schools in Illinois. Florence taught high school in Yuma, Arizona. She taught in Prescott, Arizona from 1904-1907. She was a home economics supervisor at University of California - Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. Later she was a tutor at motion picture studios. Among her students were Jackie Cooper, Judy Garland and Elizabeth Taylor.

Florence never married.

Handwriting on back of photograph reads:"Miss Hallam".

Florence moved to Fremont, Nebraska in 1965. She died there on November 26, 1967.

Burial in Centralia, Illinois.
