The Hotel Stanton, built by Charles P. "Chuck" Stanton (b. unknown - d. 1886), in the mining town of Antelope Station (later renamed Stanton).
Charles Stanton arrived in Antelope Station around 1871, when he recruited Mexican bandits to eliminate business competitors. He became postmaster, deputy sheriff, and justice of the peace and changed the town name to Stanton. In 1886, he was arrested for the murder of the Martin family but was acquitted due to lack of evidence. That same year Stanton was shot down in his store.
