Kathryn “Katie” Margaret Hiltenbrandt (b. 1881 – d. 1978) was born July 15, 1881 in Dewey, Arizona to Margaret A. and Frederick “Fred” Hiltenbrandt (b. January 6, 1836 – d. October 29, 1904). On October 1, 1899, she married Levi Irve Bonnell. He was born February 18, 1871 in Fr. Madison, Iowa and died April 28, 1912 in Dewey, Arizona. They had three children: Marguerite Bonnell (b. September 10, 1900 – d. August 1991), Eloise Bonnell (b. 1903 – d. August 5, 1995), and Frederick “Fred” R. Bonnell (b. 1905 – d. June 13, 1955). She was a licensed practical nurse.
Katie was a resident of the Arizona Pioneers’ Home in Prescott, Arizona for eight years, dying May 22, 1978 in Prescott. Her obituary shows that she was survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Marguerite Ralston of Eloy, Arizona and Mrs. Eloise Marion Bradley of Phoenix, five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is buried in the Arizona Pioneers’ Home cemetery in Prescott.
