This photo shows a side view of the saloon and hotel, located on the corner of Granite and Gurley Streets. The Whong Lee Washing & Ironing business is on the right of the saloon, with the saloon's ice wagon in front.
Chinese labors settled in Prescott during the construction of the transcontinental railroad in 1869. They became produce farmers, miners, cooks in saloons and restaurants, domestic servants, laundry owners, and even a faro dealer. One such laundry owner was Whong Lee, whose shop sign read "Whong Lee Washing & Ironing."
