Description

Margaret "Maggie" Bashford (b. 1850 - d. 1917) was born June 8, 1850, the daughter of Coles Bashford, a lawyer and former Governor of Wisconsin, and Frances Adams Foreman. Maggie married Robert H. Burmister on October 7, 1873, in Wisconsin.

The next year they came to Prescott, Arizona Territory. Maggie was a member of the History and Poetry Study group, the Monday Club and the Congregational Church. She was active in the Arizona Federation of Women's Clubs. The Burmisters had three children: Robert B. (1874), Howard C. (1880), and Helen F. (1886). The family home was at 116 S. Mt. Vernon.

She died on July 28, 1917, and was buried in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Oakland, California.
