S.F. McGuire set up the foundation for his two-story hotel in January 1895. A.J. Knoblock of Prescott leased the Grand View Hotel from E. O. Barlett, the new purchaser of the property. The Arizona Miner newspaper wrote: “Mr. Knoblock is a first class hotel man and will run the place to the satisfaction of all patrons.” Source: Arizona Miner: November 25, 1896.
The sale of the hotel from Mr. McGuire took place on November 24,1896; the price was a little less than $10,000 for the building and the furniture. Source: Arizona Miner, November 1896.
A.J. Knoblock retired from the management of the hotel in August 1898.
