Description

View of the hotel on the corner of Gurley and Montezuma Streets.

Prescott entrepreneurs Dennis A. Burke and his business partner, Michael J. Hickey, were proprietors of the Hotel Burke (or The Burke Hotel), which opened in 1891. Despite being known as the "only absolutely fireproof building in Prescott," the hotel was destroyed in 1900 by the great fire on Whiskey Row.
