View of the hotel on North Cortez Street in Prescott, Arizona.
Built in 1900 by A.J. Head, a relative of prominent hardware Prescott businessman Colonel C.P. Head, the hotel building contained a variety of businesses, including a post office, saddlery, cigar shop, and theater. The hotel was built after the Great 1900 Fire in July of that year.
Type on back of photograph is: "Head Hotel of 80 rooms and attractive lobby has all occupied stores on street level comprises the 150' three story building and the upper 50' two story building in which is the famous Ensmingers Pharmacy said to do 60% all prescription business in Prescott and established 60 years."
