Description

Two men are shown standing in front of the Prescott National Bank, established in 1894.  The building was opened in January 1902 on the northeast corner of Gurley and Cortez Streets.  It later became the Prescott State Bank.

Handwriting on back: Bill Rose + A. M. Gillespie

There were at least three William Roses in the area at that time:

William Henry Rose b. c1859; his son, a mechanic, William Henry Rose b. 1895 – d. 1921; and William Henry Rose, an engineer, b.1900, who married Irma Nadine Sayre in 1927.

There is an Absolum M. Gillespie (b. 1841 – d. 1900), who died in Jerome, Arizona, however he died before the bank was built.
