Mary Bean (b. 1870 - d. 1942) was born in July 1870 in Prescott, Arizona. She was the daughter of Curtis Coe and Mary Margaret (Bradshaw) Bean and known as May Bean.
Mary later married Charles Austin Dall. They had one son named Curtis Bean Dall.
Mary's father, Curtis, moved to Arizona in 1868 and settled in Prescott, Arizona. He was a contractor providing supplies to the US Army and was involved in several businesses including a store, railroads, ranching and mining. Curtis was the Arizona Territorial Delegate to the US House of Representatives and served one term from 1885-1887. He was considered for Arizona Governor in 1901 but was not selected.
Mary's son, Curtis Bean Dall, became a Colonel in the US Army. His first wife was Anna Eleanor Roosevelt who was the daughter of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.
Handwriting on back of photo reads: Mary Bean lived to be 72. Typewritten label reads: Miss Mary Bean. Picture taken in Washington when her father was a Delegate to Congress.
Mary died in August, 1942. She is buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
