Description

Prescott Fire Department personnel in the Armistice Day Parade on November 11th, 1931, in Prescott. In the photo are (left to right): Morris Goldwater, Edward Roberts, Dick Brown, Hedrick "Hed" D. Aitken, Jake Weber, John Stephens, Walter Newton Cook, Fred Brecht, and Tom Scholey.

Staffing for the original Prescott Fire Department was comprised of four volunteer companies: Toughs, Dudes, O.K.s, and Mechanics Hooks and Ladders. 1885, the city council formalized their support of local volunteer firefighters and created the positions of chief, and assistant chief, as well as the body of the fire department.
