The remains of the Lynx Creek Dam after Lynx Creek flooded in February of 1891. Work on the dam had begun in March 1890 and was finished by early February 1891. The dam was built by England-born Messrs. William Pedley and T. G. Barlow-Massicks. It served local placer mining activity in the Lynx Creek area and consisted of large masonry stone and two walls of Portland cement filled with lime concrete. The dam had over 2,000 feet of flume and 1000 feet of sluice boxes. The dam was severely damaged and then washed-out due to a flood in Lynx Creek just days after its completion in February of 1891.
