This picture shows the partial construction and men working on the Maier Reservoir Ice Dam. City Reservoir Hill in background. The Maier Dam and Reservoir was built in the mid-1880s by Martin Maier, a German immigrant, for the purpose of collecting water for the making of ice. The dam was located near McCormick Street and Miller Creek in Miller Valley. The reservoir was later acquired by the City of Prescott to be included into the water source.
