In June 1912 the Prescott Courier reported: "The first motocade to ever travel to the Grand Canyon of the Colorado. In the year 1912 this motorcade left Prescott, Arizona in route to the Grand Canyon breaking trails and traversing roads that were very poor cow trails. This trip was approzimately 175 miles and it took three days to reach the destination, where at the present time, with the modern paved roads of today, it is an easy three hours drive. The above pictures were taken at different points while passing through the Coconino Forest."
