The American Ranch at mile 8.4 along the Williamson Valley Road, shown here in 1884, was a stage stop on the Hardyville Road connecting Prescott and Hardyville (now Bullhead City) on the Colorado River. At mile 13 is Talking Rock, where prehistoric petroglyphs dot the canyon walls.
