Canyon Springs Stage Station, Mohave County. The station was located near the foothills of the Cerbat Mountains in northwest Arizona.
On a June night in 1880, Arizona outlaw "Hualapai" Joe Desredo held up and attempted to rob a westbound stage running from Beale Springs (near present-day Kingman, Arizona) to Fort Mohave on the Colorado River. The cargo proved to be too heavy for the outlaws to carry on horseback, and the stage driver was able to escape. Source: True West Magazine. Hualapai Joe’s Lost Loot by Marshall Trimble.
