Description

Beryl (or Beryle) Elizabeth Stephens (b. 1890 – d. July 22, 1943) was born in Prescott, Arizona on July 1, 1890. In the 1920 census she is shown as still living in Prescott in the Granite Mountain Precinct. Her age is listed as 27, but no occupation is shown. She died July 22, 1943 and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery, in Prescott.

Her father was John Cyrus Stephens (b. 1860 or 1861 – d. 1939), who was born in Texas on February 2, 1860 or 1861. His mother was Nancy Ball, born in Kentucky; his father was Varney A. Stephens, born in Kentucky. Caroline E. Weaver, who also lived in Prescott, was one of his five female siblings. John was a director of the First National Bank, a merchant and a cattleman. He died May 25, 1939. Beryl’s mother was Laura Susan Clay (b. 1870 – d. 1936) who was born in Missouri on November 22, 1870. She died May 25, 1936. Beryl had one sister, Myrtle E. Rich Stephens (b. 1892 – d. 1971) who was born in Prescott, Arizona on April 7, 1892; she died in Prescott in August, 1971. The Hampton Funeral Home in Prescott handled her burial.
