Description

This is the original grave site of Charles Debrille Poston (b. 1825 - d. 1902) located in the potter's field of Porter Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona. Poston was called the "Father of Arizona Territory" and was Arizona's first delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1864. On April 26, 1925, on the centennial of Poston's birth, his remains were transferred and interred to Primrose Hill, which was later renamed Poston's Butte, in Florence, Arizona under an elaborate pyramid-like tomb.
