Grave of Marilla Jane Rogers (b. 1824 - d. 1897) at Walnut Creek Cemetery. Above her headstone is a poem carved in a wooden plaque: "Within this grave an angel lies, No myth that flirts above the skies, A host of friendly ties Bespoke an angel good and wise." The cemetery, once known as Camp Hualapai (Walapai) Cemetery, started off as a military cemetery until it was abandoned by the U.S. Army in 1873. Civilian headstones are dated 1881-1897 with nine visible graves, along with military graves.
