Description

The Verde Valley Cemetery is located between Camp Verde and Center Point on private property, the Las Espuelas Ranch. Approximately twenty people are buried there. Prior permission is required to enter the cemetery.

Wales Arnold (b. 1837 - d. 1913) and his wife Sarah (Wells) Arnold (b. 1845 - d. 1908) were prominent settlers of Yavapai County. Wales was an Indian fighter, civilian scout for the Army, farmer, and rancher. He was appointed a sutler at Fort Whipple and Camp Lincoln and sold provisions to the soldiers. Both Wales and his wife are buried in the Verde Valley Cemetery.
