The Simmons Cemetery was established when the Simmons family, pioneers in Miller Valley area, donated a portion of their land for a cemetery. Later, the Arizona Pioneers' Home purchased land from the Simmons family and the established their cemetery, which is adjacent to the Simmons Family Cemetery.
