Description

Flora E. (Rupert) Sutherland Page (b. June, 1856 - d. 1918) was born in Dreslin, Maine, the daughter of Andrew J. (b. 1855 - July 3, 1913) and Elizabeth M. Rupert (b. November 2, 1832 - d. April 3, 1905), both of whom were born in Maine. In the 1880 census, Flora is shown as married to LaFayette Sutherland and living in Prescott, Arizona. At that time, they had a two-year old son, Donald “Don” Alfred Sutherland (born in California), and a second son, Charles G. Sutherland, less than a year old, born in Arizona. In the 1890 census, Flora is shown as living in San Francisco, California and married to Charles W. Page, who was born in England. This census shows that she had three living children (two other children were deceased). In the 1910 census, she is listed as still living in San Francisco. Her son Don had three children: Romona (or Ramona) Hjo Sutherland, Don Warland Sutherland, and James Tobin Sutherland. Don was married to Mamie (Johnson) Sutherland and later to Pauline Sutherland. Flora‘s sister Mary Elizabeth (Rupert) Tobin was two years older than her. Flora and Mary Elizabeth also had a brother, Evander "Van" A. Rupert (b. April 1862 - d. October 30, 1933), born in Massachusetts and died in Prescott, Arizona. Her brother established a stage line between Prescott and Copper Basin. He was first married to Addie Grazer, whom he divorced in 1902. At the time of his death, he was married to Minerva (or Manerva) Jane (Bernard) Dabney Huddleston Breese. Flora died October 6, 1918.
