Romona (or Ramona) Hijo Sutherland (b. 1908) was born in California. She was the daughter of Donald “Don” Alfred Sutherland (b. April 23, 1878 –d. June 20, 1940). Her mother was Mamie (Johnson) Sutherland (b. 1887). Her siblings were Don Warland Sutherland  and James Tobin Sutherland (b. December 6, 1910 in California - d. October 28, 1996 in Tuolumne, Califonia). She is the granddaughter of Prescott residents Flora E. (Rupert) Sutherland Page and LaFayette Page. The 1880 census shows the grandparents as then living in Prescott with their two sons, Donald "Don" Alfred Sutherland (age 2) and Charles G. Sutherland (less than a year old).
