Description

Frances "Fanny" A. Weeks was born in Missouri on December 17, 1865, the daughter of Colonel Quartermaster George Henry Weeks (born in New Hampshire) and Laura Babbitt of New York. The 1880 Census data shows her living at Fort Whipple Barracks with her parents and three brothers; Edwin Babbitt (17), George McDougall (8) and Marion Merle (4). She married Adrian Suydam Polhemus, a graduate of Yale University, in 1886 and they had two children; Adrian Kenneth and George W.

Her obituary states that Frances died on February 24, 1930 in Moorestown, New Jersey and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery alongside her husband Major Surgeon Adrian S. Polhemus.
