Description

Minerva Townsend (b. 1839 – d. 1910) was born on January 19, 1839 in Winedale, Texas to Mary “Polly” (Burnham) and William S. Townsend. She was part of a very large family and younger sister to famous Arizona scout and Indian fighter John B. Townsend. She married William A. Davis and they had seven children. She died on March 24, 1910. She was the Aunt to John and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Vickers) Townsend Aldridge’s children: Clara (Townsend) Beckers Vroom, Dee Townsend, Lulu Townsend, Ora (Townsend) Coleman French, Chancy Townsend and the youngest boy John “Ben” Townsend, Jr.
