Description

Photo of a 1913 Model 35 Studebaker automobile.

This vehicle was very similar to the 1913 Model SA25 used by Dr. William Warner Watkins during a 1,000-mile tour of Arizona in 1913. During the fall of that year Dr. Watkins, his wife Bessie and their nine-month-old daughter Merial, along with their friends Clarence N. Boynton and his wife Marquita, took a driving trip in Watkins's 1913 Studebaker. This trip lasted 36 days, with several days of delays due to breakdowns, unplanned stops, and other misadventures.
