Description

An advertisement from the Prescott Evening Courier newspaper announcing the Black Canyon Parada (parade or caravan of vehicles).

The former Black Canyon Highway became I-17 and SR 69 connecting Phoenix and Prescott in 1955. A "parada" met at Sunset Point and drove all the way to Prescott to celebrate the completion of the paved roadway that same year.
