John Mahony, Ginger & cat

JOHN FITZGIBBONS MAHONY (b. August 14, 1849 - d. April 25, 1940) was a veteran of the Indian Wars, serving in New Mexico.  He was discharged at Fort Verde in 1870.  He later became City Engineer for Prescott, and prominently operated a number of area mines.  He became Arizona Commander of the United Indian War Veterans organization in 1925, and served as its National Commander from 1934-1935.  He is buried in the IOOF Cemetery.
