Description

Orchard Ranch - Mr. Hewins on ladder picking and gathering apples at orchard with a unidentified man (possibly James Hall) and a drove/herd of pigs.

The man is possibly Levi Hewins, husband of Sharlot's close friend Alice Hewins.

LEVI EDWIN "NED" HEWINS (b. January 13, 1859 in Loda, Illinois - d. January 12, 1936) was an early-day pioneer of the Phoenix area.  He had been an eyewitness to the Pleasant Valley War and wrote about it.  He was married to Sharlot Hall's friend, Alice Butterfield Hewins.  He died one day shy of his 77th birthday, and is interred at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix.
