John David Hall Sr. at the VA Hospital in Prescott, Arizona.
John David Hall Sr. came to Arizona from Texas in 1934. He and his wife, Gertrude Lorene Everett Hall, lived in what is now part of Prescott Heights. Mr. Hall was employed as a civilian worker at the Fort Whipple VA Hospital and would walk over the hills between Prescott Heights and Fort Whipple to get to work. One of his duties was to drive a bus to Prescott to pick up nurses who were scheduled to work at Fort Whipple. This photo also depicts that he did some manual work. The length of his time that he spent at Fort Whipple is unknown, but the majority of his employment was in the 1940s.
