Description

This photo is of James S. Russell and was taken while he was in Phoenix, Arizona attending the 1924 Arizona Pioneers Reunion.

James S. Russell came to Skull Valley, Arizona from Kansas in 1872. He and his cousin, William Cooper, co-developed and owned several mines in the Copper Basin area such as the Morning Glory mine, Morning Star mine, Anchor mine, San Diego mine, Gold Hill mine, and Humboldt mine. They were sold in 1889.
