Image of Pauline Markham (1847-1919) as the character Ralph Rackstraw, 1875-1890 for the comic operetta “Pinafore” has been a favorite with Prescottonians ever since December 1879, when the nationally renowned burlesque star, Pauline Markham, rumbled into our territorial capital on the stagecoach from Tucson.
