Description

William Byers (b. 1868 - d. 1950) was born on April 26, 1868 and Mrs. Lola (Wharton) Byers (b. 1877 - d. 1970) was born on March 31, 1877. Mr. and Mrs. Byers came to Prescott in 1906. He owned a blacksmith shop and when horses went out as a means of transportation, he converted the shop to an auto body repair shop. In 1918 he became a member of the City Council and remained there until 1932. In 1933 he became a member of the County Board of Supervisors. Mr. Byers died in 1950 and Mrs. Byers died on December 3, 1970.
