Description

In front seat: Elinor Gayle Allen Campbell and Charlie Hernden.

In back seat: Mary Harriett "Hattie" (Fisher) Tritle Ainsworth and Mulford Windsor.

Elinor Gayle (Allen) Campbell (b. 1878 - d. 1978) was born on February 9, 1878 in Louisiana.  On June 18, 1900 in Jerome, Arizona Territory, she married Thomas Edward Campbell who served as governor of Arizona between 1919 and 1922.  She died on January 30, 1958 in Los Angeles, California and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.

Charles W. Herndon (b. 1877 - d. 1927) moved to Prescott in 1883 with his family.  HIs father, John C. Herndon, was a prominent Prescott attorney.  Charles, or C.W., was an attorney and politician.  In 1910 he moved his law practice to Kingman and then ran successfully for several different political offices.  From 1915 to 1919 he was part of several groups incorporating mining entities in Arizona.  From 1920 to 1927 he was involved in creating numeroous mining companies.  He died on July 25, 1927 in Prescott.

Mary Harriet "Hattie" (Fisher) Tritle Ainsworth (b. 1880 - d. 1954) was born on September 26, 1880 in Prescott.  She was the daughter of John Lloyd Fisher and Sarah "Sally" Ann (Shivers) Fisher Goldwater.  She married Harry Russell Tritle (b. 1866 - d. 1947) on September 21, 1898 in Prescott.  Their children were Lloyd H. Tritle (b. 1899 - d. 1972), Harriet Tritle (b. 1902 - d. 1986) and Katherine E. Tritle (b. 1902).  The 1910 Census shows her as living in Maricopa, Arizona.  The next documented information for her is a marriage certificate showing her as divorced and marrying Arthur Ainsworth in Santa Ana, California on December 22, 1915.  Then, the 1930 census shows her as Harriet Ainsworth, head of household, living in Santa Monica, California with daughters Beverly Ainsworth and Katherine Tritle.  Her occupation is shown as "none." She died on December 16, 1984 in Los Angeles, California.

Mulford Winsor (b. 1874 - d. 1956) was born on May 31, 1874.  He was an American newspaperman and Arizona politician.  In 1892 he relocated to Prescott, Arizona Territory, and moved around the territory working at a variety of newspapers before settling in Yuma.  He represented Yuma County in the Arizona State Senate for two two-year terms and then three more terms.  After leaving the legislature, he was appointed State Librarian and Director of the Department of Library and Archives in 1932 where he served for 24 years.  He died on November 5, 1956 in Phoenix, Arizona and is buried in Yuma, Arizona.
