Description

Corporal John A. Throne (b.1884 - d.1966) was born in Prescott, Arizona on September 13, 1884. He was the son of John Throne, born in 1826 in Dover Township, Pennsylvania and Margaret (Failer) Throne, born in 1830 in West Pennsboro Township, Pennsylvania. 

John Adam Throne married Jennie Goodhart in Cumberland, Pennsylvania on January 1, 1890. 

John was listed on the voting records of Maricopa County, Arizona in 1909.

He married Margaret Barkley on July 1, 1925 in Lakeport, California.

At some point, John and his wife moved to Sacramento, California. Census records indicate he worked as a carpenter at a railway shop, janitor in a state building, and a building maintenance man.

Handwriting on photograph reads: "For Bill, Corporal John A. Thorne...5th Inf.N.G.C."

John died on November 9, 1966 in Sacramento, California. He was buried in East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento.
