Description

Epifanio "Yaqui" Ordunez (b.1882 - d.1966) was born in El Paso, Texas on April 7, 1882, Parents unknown.

Epifanion arrived in Arizona from New Mexico in 1897. He worked as a cowboy for the 3V Cattle Company and subsequently worked for many of the larger ranches in Prescott, Arizona. Epifanio frequently competed as a bronc rider and roper in the Frontier Days Rodeo in Prescott. In later years, he appeard in the Rodeo parade.

Epifanio died on November 22, 1966 at the Pioneers Home. He was said to be "the last of the old time vaqueros or Mexican-style cowboys in Arizona". Epifanio was buried in  the Arizona Pioneers Home Cemetery.
